Repent within two months or face serious consequences, Matawalle tells Bandits

According to Governor Bello Matawalle, all bandits in Zamfara State have been given a two-month deadline to repent and surrender their arms or face severe repercussions from security forces.
On Tuesday, Matawalle told journalists in Gusau House that any bandit who refused to surrender within the time limit would face government retaliation.
DailyTimes gathered, that the federal government would soon send an additional 6,000 soldiers to assist the state government in combating the renegade bandits.

“I’ve given you up to two months to surrender your weapons and repent,” he said, adding that “any bandit who refuses to embrace the peace process will be fought by the government.”
He urged traditional rulers and local government sole administrators to keep an eye on their respective areas and report any attacks to the government so that action could be taken.
