Rep member, Akin Alabi to strengthen ties with PwD Commission

House of Representatives member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara constituency, Honourable Akin Alabi, has met with the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disability (PwD), Honourable Ayuba Gufwan.
The visit was in continuation of the lawmaker’s efforts in giving PwD sense of belonging, particularly in his constituency.
A statement by Alabi’s media aide, Hameed Ramadan, st the weekend, indicated that discussions between Alabi and Gufwan focused on the commission’s activities and “ways the National Assembly could support its work through strategic appropriations.”
The legislator reaffirmed his dedication to improving the lives of PwD.
“Hon. Akin Alabi remains committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their challenges, have access to opportunities and resources that improve their quality of life. His engagement with the National Commission for Persons with Disability is part of his broader vision for an inclusive society.

“The aftermath of the strategic meeting was that PwDs leaders in Oyo State lauded Hon. Alabi’s past interventions in Egbeda and Ona Ara federal constituency, particularly his provision of mobility aids.
“One of the leaders said they were aware of the support he rendered to their members in the federal constituency.
“He said the mobility aids he provided had changed lives and restored hope for many who had felt left behind.
“Hon. Alabi responded by emphasising the importance of prioritising inclusivity in governance, saying supporting persons with disabilities is not just an act of charity; but also a moral obligation to ensure no one is left behind. “He said together, we can build a society where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive.
“The partnership between Hon. Alabi and the National Commission PwD is expected to yield even greater results in the coming months, as he continues to advocate for their cause within the National Assembly,” the statement read.
