Religious Sect, Hunts Henry, Dead or Alive, For Alleged” Gay Act

There was panic in Garki area, Abuja, Northern part of Nigeria, as one Henry Aliga, was reportedly brutalized by angry suspected religious sect group members, living him with serious injuries on his head, on allegation of Gay relationship.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration in 2014,
duly signed into law, zero tolerance, total ban on same sex relationship and announced a minimum of 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for offenders.

Newsmen who visited the community gathered that, the incident took place on the
21st of March 2019 in Garki area, as group of religious sect, believed to be of the muslims faith aggressively attacked Henry Aliga, whom they allegedly accused of gay.

An eye witness Mr. Jerome Abdullahi, said that “Henry was accused of same gay, which members of the sect claimed to be against their religious belief, pointing that, it is an unholy and abominable act to practice same sex in their community highlighting that, anyone involved, caught in the unholy act as they claimed could be stone to death or face prosecution” but Henry was fortunate to have struggled through the hands of the angry mob by sympathizers whom he explained, intervened when they pounced on him with deadly weapons that led to serious injuries on his head before he narrowly escaped on the day of the incident.

Jerome further said that, “Henry has been on their watchlist unknowingly to him to eliminate him, as they alleged claiming that, he was involved in the act without investigation. “he was attacked severally before he was rushed to the hospital, with injuries on his head”.

A member of Henry’s family, Chibuzor, confirmed the incident, explaining to Investigative newsmen that, “Henry was hospitalized in Kubwa General hospital, Abuja.

It was gathered that, the incident was reported to a local police station, but officers at the post were reluctant on investigating the matter appropriately, thereby endangering Henry’s life on security, as Henry was said to have traveled to an unknown destination of fear of been lynched, as no one was ready to listen to his own side of the story.
