2016!!! That wonderful year gave birth to a lot of internet sensations, as we would call them they put smiles on our faces and sometimes made us forget there was a recession. If you are not following them on Instagram, one question, who are you following?  These comedians really had a thing for comedy and has been increasing in numbers, it was just as if they have been in hiding and has been waiting for when to come out and show their thing to the world. The internet is filled with different funny people doing one or two things and putting smiles on their faces. In no particular order, OMOTOSHO ZAINAB & OGBONNA OLIVIA ex-rays some of these social media comedians who have stolen our hearts since 2016 till date.

Craze Clown

Emmanuel Iwueke, popularly known as Craze Clown is the undisputed king, and the most followed Nigeria comedian on Instagram. This year he did not drop a lot of skits, but together with his sidekick Tega and MushinBoi, he still reigned supreme in the world of comedy. He also signed a couple endorsement deals with top brands and hosted his own sold out show. Papa as he is popularly called by his son Ade has really been amazing right from day one and even with the numerous comedians that are trooping into the world of comedy he still gets the highest remarks. Great year for this guy.

Emma (OH MA GOD!)

Emmanuel Edunjobi is a comedian with fabulous act. His funny handsome face and wide smile with a funny character has made him outstanding in the world of comedy. He is known for singing songs or changing artiste’s songs into his own taste and putting it in a funny way making people laugh once they are played. He has made great impact on fans by singing and also acting in funny ways. He really has made so many followers on his Instagram and Facebook page, he really is amazing.

Aphricanape

Dami Olatunde known for his gigantic lips and his receding hairline is one comedian whose nickname ‘Aphricanape’ we have never doubted for a day. He had our hearts in 2016, so much so that he was featured in BBC as the Nigerian man making Africans laugh. Referred to as the New Era king of comedy, his most used words in 2016 was Everlasting Bastard! But this year he has been trending making other comedians use his words on their own jokes. Examples of his words are: funke, Aye Mi, Blood of Nebuchadnezzar and Apostle must hear of this.

Ereme is one character that evolved with 2016. He became quite popular after a bout of depression that he fought with so much love and support from his fans. The young and gifted comedian knows how to switch into five characters in one scene. He is Baba Tobi, Mama Tobi, Tobi, Taofeek, and Shade all at once! His fine face is complimented with brilliance, determination and hard work.

KlintonCOD

EKENE CLINTON EGBUNA also known by his stage name KlintonCOD is an extremely talented comedian who has managed to gain massive online presence from the production of short comic clips on Instagram as well as Facebook. With his numerous followers on both platforms combined, he has managed to gain the trust of people on his ability to make them laugh. He is a man with a pitiful face and abusive Igbo tongue, He has been able to get attention from fans.

Mark Angel

Without a doubt Mark angel comedy skit have really taken comedy into the next level, so far so good Mark Angel comedy is the number one talked about skits in Nigeria which make them the best.  Mark angel has really made good impact in comedy alongside his little niece Emmanuella who has been the talk of people all over. Her funny face and character has made people want to get to know more about her. Mark Angel and his crew Denilson Igwe alongside Emmanuella has taken comedy into the next level.

Lizzy Jay (Omo Ibadan)

How can we ever describe this girl, a girl with funny looks and tribal mark? Lizzy jay popularly known as Omo Ibadan has really made fans all over with her Ibadan intonation. Most people believed she is an Ibadan girl but she is not instead she is an Osun state girl. She was blessed with that Ibadan intonation. Lizzy jay is also a dancer, a singer and also a rapper. And that was how she got the stage name Lizzy jay. Keep shining Omo Ibadan we expect more from you.

Oluwakaponeski

The famous Mama Tobi the one known for his undisputable Yoruba Yankee accent Kaponeski is a soldier cum comedian whose act is that of a problematic Yoruba Mother. In 2016, he was a blessing to Instagram and other social media platforms. We hope to see more of him in 2017.

Iamkanmi

Kanmi is one comedian who always has funny comments and replies for everything. He is absolutely fascinating to watch and his skits, OMG!! His skits will get you rolling. He is so good he featured in Wizkid song. After featuring to Falz The Bad Guy’s Bad Gang song. Brilliant this chap, Brilliant.

Maraji

Gloria Oloruntobi, the Edo state born graduate of covenant University came into limelight with her great lip-syncing ability. She is a regular customer on musically and has inspired a lot of people who also want to be in the lip-sync business. She has moved on to comedy and her hilarious skills are a source of joy. She is a great inspiration to many and one to look out for.

Ebiye

Comedian Ebiye slaughtered the internet with his perfect imitation of the robbery incidence involving our dearest OBO, Davido. His facial expressions will send you rolling especially when he is in a position where he has to explain something something that is not in his favour. 2016 has been awesome for him. Looking forward to him blessing our screen in 2017.

Wofaifada

Call her the queen of comedy and you won’t be wrong. Wofai kept us entertained right from the very first day she came into limelight and has been doing well getting tons of followers and likes. She knows how to flow with her comedy skits making and ensuring that her fans ends up laughing. Ride on, we hope to see more from you.
