Reckless driving: Edo deputy governor urges police to prosecute reckless convoy drivers

The convoy of the Comrade Deputy Governor of Edo State,Rt Hon Phillp Shaibu was involved in an auto crash at the weekend on its way to Agenebode to kick start the All Progressives Congress( APC) campaigns in Etsako East for the House of Representatives election slated for next week Saturday.
Two of the Hilux vans in the convoy were badly damaged but no life was lost and nobody sustained serious injuries. The bike rider and his wife who sustained minor injuries were immediately taken to a private hospital for medical attention.
The Deputy Governor, who visited the couple at the hospital in company of aides,including the Deputy Chief Of Staff, Barr Kingsley Ehigiamusoe, promised to pay the bills and give the victim a tricycle in place of his damaged motorcycle, while warning that the drivers who caused the accident through sheer recklessness would be prosecuted according to Nigeria’s traffic laws and if found guilty, they will be dismissed from the state civil service.
According to him, ” I have told the Area Commander to do thorough investigation and make sure the case is charged to court anybody found guilty must face the music.
I want it to serve as a deterent to other reckless drivers who believe that driving government vehicles was a licence to be reckless on the highways”.
