Rangers suspend Amapakabo
Nigerian champions Enugu Rangers have placed their head coach Imama Amapakabo on indefinite suspension.
]According to the club’s general manager Christian Chukwu, the troubled coach has been asked to stay away from the team.
However, Chukwu did not explain the reason for the suspension on Amapakabo but supersport.com has been informed that the run of poor results including a 2-2 draw against Zambian side Zesco United in a CAF Confederation Cup game is attributed for the decision.
The former Nigerian captain, Chukwu, also disclosed that assistant to Amapakabo, Chukwuma Agbo will take charge of the team pending the club’s final decision on the matter.
The Nigerian champions have endured a poor start to this season by winning just four matches out of 19 in all competitions.
Rangers currently prop up the rear of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with 13 points from 14 matches. The Enugu club still have three outstanding league matches.
