Radiographers bill: Buhari declines assent, contradicts self

President Muhammadu Buhari has declined assent to Radiographers Registration Bill transmitted to him by the National Assembly in May.
The President’s mentioned dates in letters transmitted to both chambers of the National Assembly on the action, contradicted self on when he took the action and the date he wrote letters to that effect.
Recall that the bill was passed by the parliament in April this year.
The letters titled: Presidential Decision to decline assent to the Radiographers Registration (Amendment) Bill 2018″ were dated 18th June, 2018, but the president in the letter said he took the decision on the 26th of June, 2018 (8 days after writing the letters).
The letter which was read on the floor of the Senate yesterday by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki said: “Pursuant to section 58 (4) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, I hereby convey to the senate my decision on the 26th June 2018 to decline the presidential assent to the Radiographers Registration Amendment Bill recently passed by the National Assembly.
