Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha has declared Wednesday and Thursday next week as public holiday to enable the people of the state to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

This is against the backdrop of the fact that more than 480,000 PVCs were yet to be collected at the various INEC offices across the state. He therefore ordered that all the markets in the state would remain closed from 8 am to 4 pm.

Okorocha while briefing newsmen in Owerri on Thursday also disclosed that the ruling party APC would adopt the direct primaries to select its candidates.
