PVCs Collection Hits 81.2%

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said that out of the 68,833,476 million registered voters for the polls, as at March 12, it has distributed about 55,904,272 million permanent voter cards (PVCs), representing 81.22 percent.

In a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu, a breakdown of how the PVCs have been distributed in the states is as follows: Abia, with a total of 1,396,172 registered voters, has 1,177,520 who have collected the PVCs, representing 84.34 percent; others are Adamawa, with 1,559,012 registered voters, with 1,381,571 cards distributed, representing 88.62 percent; Akwa Ibom, 1,680,759 registered, with 1,587,566 PVCs distributed, which is 94.46 percent; Anambra, with 1,963,173, and 1,658,967 cards collected, 84.50 percent; Bauchi, with 2,054,125 registered, 1,778,380 distributed, a total of 86.58 percent; Bayelsa, with a total of 610,373 registered voters has 546,372 collecting their PVCs, which is 89.51 percent; Benue, with 2,015,452 registered, has 1,607,800 who have collected, which is 79.77 percent; Borno, with a total of 1,934,079 registered voters, has 1,407,777 who have collected, representing 72.79 percent; Cross River, with a total of 1,175,623 registered voters, has 963,929 who have collected, representing 81.99 percent; Delta, with a total of 2,275,264 registered voters, has 1,921,627 who have collected, 84.46 percent; Ebonyi, with a total of 1,074,273 registered voters, has 848,392 that have collected their cards, which represents 78.97 percent.

Others are Edo, with a total of 1,779,738, has 1,218,734 who have collected, amounting to 68.48 percent; Ekiti with 732,021 registered voters, has 511,790 who have collected their PVCs, which is 69.91 percent; Enugu, with a total of 1,429,221 registered voters, has 1,223,606 who have collected their PVCs, representing 85.61 percent; the FCT, with 881,472 registered voters, has 569,109 who have collected the PVCs, which is 64.56 percent; Gombe, with a total of 1,120,023 voters, 1,069,635 have collected their PVCs, 95.50 percent; Imo, with a total of 1,803,030 voters, has 1,707,449 PVCs collected, 94.70 percent; Jigawa, with a total of 1,831,276, has 1,756,320 distributed, representing 95.91 percent; Kaduna, with a total of 3,407,222 voters, has 3,174,519 who have collected, 93.17 percent.

Also Kano has 4,975,701 voters, with 4,112,039 who have collected their PVCs, which is 82.64 percent; Katsina, with 2,827,943 voters, has 2,620,096, PVCs distributed, which is 92.65 percent; Kebbi, 1,470,648 registered, with 1,372,630 cards collected, amounting to 93.34 percent; Kogi, 1,350,883 voters, with 926,013 PVCs collected, which is 68.55 percent; Kwara, with 1,142,267 voters, has 884,996 PVCs collected, 77.48 percent; Lagos, with 5,822,207 registered voters, has 3,767,647 cards collected, which is 64.71 percent; Nasarawa, with a total of 1,242,667 registered voters, has 1,048,053, PVCs distributed, 84.34percent; Niger, 2,014,317 voters, 1,682,058 PVCs collected, 83.51 percent; Ogun 1,829,534 voters, 904,647 PVCs collected, representing 49.45 percent; Ondo, 1,524,655 registered, 1,110,844 distributed, amounting to 72.86 percent; Osun, 1,407,107 registered, 1,030,051 collected, 73.20 percent; Oyo 2,415,566 registered, 1,639,967 collected, 67.89 percent; Plateau, 2,001,825 registered, 1,508,585 collected, which is 75.36 percent; Rivers, 2,537,590 registered, 2,127,837 PVCs collected, 83.85 percent; while Sokoto, with 1,611,929 voters, 1,527,004 cards distributed, 94.73 percent; Taraba, with 1,340,652 voters, 1,270,889 collected, 94.80 percent; Yobe, 1,099,970 registered, 824,401 collected, meaning 74.95 percent, and Zamfara, with a total of 1,495,717 voters, 1,435,452 PVCs distributed, which represents 95.97 percent.
