Prove your integrity, tell EFCC to investigate Oshiomhole, PDP charges Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to live up to his claim of integrity by calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to commence investigation into corrupt allegations against the new national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on the emergence of the new chairman of APC, PDP national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said Oshiomhole has a petition hanging on his neck and called on Buhari not to shield him for prosecution by the EFCC.

Ologbondiyan said this on Wednesday while playing host to leaders of PDP from Kabba/ Bunu local government of Kogi State who were on solidarity visit to him at the Wadata House, Abuja national secretariat of the party.

The PDP spokesperson recalled that a clergy, Bishop, Osadalor Oche from Edo State sent a petition to the EFCC against the APC national chairman but expressed shock that he was yet to be investigated despite claims by President Buhari that APC is a party integrity.

Nigerians expect that the EFCC will rise to investigate the allegation. But up till now the Commission has not done anything. Mr. Oshiomhole who claims Mr. Integrity has failed to submit himself to the EFCC.

How do you want us to believe you are fighting corruption? Of course Nigerians are already know that the EFCC that was established by the PDP ‎government to fight corruption has been turned to a bull-dog to go after opposition members who are critical of President Buhari’s government.

We are asking the EFCC to commence investigation on Oshiomhole over the alleged corruption. If they failed to do so the Commission has no moral right to prosecute any of our members in the guise of fighting corruption”, he said.

Ologbondiyan also accused the APC of allegedly spending whopping N3.6 billion to conduct its just concluded national convention.

He said it is ironical that at a critical time when Nigerians are undergoing hunger and starvation, APC state governors contributed N150 million each to fund the national convention of the party described as a charade.

It is worrisome to us that as we speak today, the sum of N3.6 billion was spent on that charade that they called convention.”

He said Nigeria is passing through perilous times as the country is turning into funeral parlour by the APC.

Leader of the delegation, Dr. Stephen Olorunfemi said Kola Ologbondiyan has been a good ambassador of the Okun people and that he has performed well as the national publicity secretary of PDP in three thematic areas.
