Principal Photography Begins on Shijuwomi

Prolific film director, Niji Akanni is currently on set of yet another blockbuster shot titled Shijuwomi a cinematic adaptation of Rasheed Gbadamosi’s post colonial book, Behold my Redeemer. The movie which is produced by television/film veteran, Bayo Awala, parades stars with the likes of Veteran actors, Ayo Lijadu, Bimbo Manuel, Femi Adebayo, Olu Okekanye, Tina Mba, Jude Chukwuka and fast rising actress, Judith Audu amongst others. Shijuwomi is a movie riddled with love and conflict from start to finish. A cerebral metaphor for Nigeria as a nation and many African countries whose dreams of Utopia after freedom from colonial powers have all but evaporated, leaving behind hopelessness and frustration. Akanni has written many award-winning films including Dangerous Twins and Playing Games, Saving Alero and Narrow Path amongst others.
