Primary school pupil electrocuted in Benin

A pupil of Eyaen Primary School in Benin City, Edo State was on Thursday electrocuted by naked wires from fallen Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), electric pole.

Information has it that the electric pole which had been down for over 48 hours had however been neglected by the distribution company even after her attention was called to it.

Speaking on the incident, the Edo Civil Society Organisations (Edocso), said the loss of life as a result of the fallen electric pole is very tragic.

According to the public relations officer of Edocso, Leftist Osazee Edigin, “It is very unfortunate especially at a time Edo Civil Society Organisations have been probing the privatisation process and efficiency of the players in the distribution of electricity particularly the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
