Presidential Election: Delta PDP Finds Its Bearing

The State, the stronghold of the part, was gripped with tension, shock and conundrum before Buhari was announced the winner, but as at
yesterday, things were gradually freezing out as PDP is planning ahead to win he Governorship election.

Governor Uduaghan who appeared sad over the outcome of the last Saturday presidential election, summoned all Party Chieftains and
supporters to a stakeholders meeting at Government House in Asaba to strategize and plan for how the party will win other elections in the state.

Uduaghan told his party supporters not to be discouraged but to work as a team for the victory of the candidates in the governorship and House of Assembly elections.

He described President Jonathan as a hero, true state man and a patriotic Nigerian for considering defeat as well as congratulating his opponent.

Meanwhile APC supporters in the state were jubilating along major streets when their presidential flag bearer General Buhari was declared winner.

In most of the pubs, they were sighted celebrating the victory with wines and beer o the extent that some of them were found drunk.

Also yesterday, commercial banks in Asaba, the state capital had hectic time attending to customers who thronged the banking hall to transact business.

Scores of bank customers where however disappointed as the banks closed 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the previous day, for fear of outbreak of violence on the outcome of the elections.
