Presidency Announces Disengagement of Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy

The Presidency has announced the immediate disengagement of Fegho John Umunubo, who until now served as the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President.

In a public notice issued on Monday, September 8, 2025, by the State House Director of Information and Public Relations, Abiodun Oladunjoye, stakeholders and the general public were informed that Umunubo no longer represents the Tinubu administration in any capacity.

The statement cautioned that any individual or organization interacting with Umunubo under the guise of the Presidency does so at their own risk. Stakeholders in Nigeria’s digital and creative economy, both locally and internationally, were urged to take note of this directive.

No reasons were provided for the disengagement, but the announcement signals a shift in the Presidency’s approach to digital and creative economy engagements.
