Police Recover 7-Day-Old Sold Three Days After Birth

A seven-month old baby, David, who was abducted three day after birth and sold to a buyer in Abuja through a quack doctor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the rate of N300, 000, has been recovered.

Daily Times gathered that the baby was sold by the biological mother, Esther Johnny because she could not afford to take care of him.

Johnny hails from Oboyo Ikot Eta, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State.

Speaking during the handing over of the baby to his biological mother, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Akwa-Ibom State CID, Mike Okoli, said the quack doctor had been arrested and detained.

The quack doctor, whose name was not disclosed, is the owner of Joe Ann Clinic located at Afam in Oyigbi Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Okoli said: “When a team of detectives from the State Police Headquarters, Uyo, swung into action, the quack doctor nabbed and detained. The fleeing buyer, upon realizing the pressure put in by the police to recover baby David, quietly took the child back to the doctor’s clinic in Port Harcourt, where our detectives recovered him. The shocking aspect of the story is that the biological mother sold the child claiming that she has three children already that she cannot train the child.”
