Police parade 16 kidnappers, robbers,rapists

The Nigeria Police has paraded 16 notorious members of three kidnap for ransom and armed robbery gangs suspects that operate along Abuja- Suleja- Kaduna -Minna highways.
The Force Public Relations Officer , CSP Jimoh Moshood who paraded the suspects at Sabin Wuse Division, Niger State on Tuesday, said the gangs members were responsible for the murders of not less than 10 persons.
The suspects are Ibrahim Umar a.k.a ORO ‘M’ aged 20years (Gang Leader) who confessed to have killed more than 10 persons, Mohammadu Auta a.k.a Babawuro ‘M’ aged 27 years ,the gang armourer, Musa Usman ‘M’ aged 25 years and Abdullahi Abubakar ‘M’ aged 28 years.
While the second gang members are Abdullahi Abdulkarim a.k.a Gebegebe ‘M’ aged 26 years, Adamu Mohammed ‘M’ aged 30 years, Yusuf Isah ‘M’ aged 30 years, Ibrahim Aliyu ‘M’ aged 28 years, Aliyu Baba ‘M’ aged 27 years and Yunusa Abubakar ‘M’ aged 28 years, were said to be kidnapping for ransom and rape gang.
The third (Kidnap for Ransom Gang) members were identified as Yakubu Wakili ‘M’ aged 35 years,Isiaka Mohammed ‘M’ aged 26 years, Hassan Usman ‘M’ aged 28 years, Aminu Kabiru ‘M’ aged 28 years, Mubarak Adamu ‘M’ aged 25 years and Yusuf Sani ‘M’ aged 27 years.
Among the exhibits recovered from them were arms and ammunition: Five AK-47 Riffles, 1598 7.62 X 39mm AK-47 ammunitions, two swords & cutlasses, four pairs of suspected fake military uniform and mobile phones.
The Forces spokesman said the suspects arrests were made possible through a careful implementation of elaborate security arrangement ordered by Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris for the 2017 Christmas and 2018 New Year festivities.
According to him, Special Tactical Squad of the Force attached to Operation Absolute Sanity recorded the remarkable achievement. It came after an intense gun battle that lasted more than five hours between the F- SARS Special Tactical Squad attached Operation Absolute Sanity and the first kidnap for ransom gang in the hideout of the Kidnappers in the Forest along Kaduna – Abuja highway.
The police team busted the first gang and arrested four of its members suspects including their gang leader who is a trained armourer and the hit-man of the gang.
Moshood described the gang as ” the most vicious and notorious syndicate of Kidnap for Ransom gang arrested by the Police in the recent time”.
He said the gang leader, Ibrahim Umar, a.k.a Oro ‘ has “confessed to have personally killed more than 10 people including those that he killed after he collected ransom money from their families.
“He also confessed to suck the blood of most of the victims after killing them. He was identified by some of the victims rescued from their captivity by the Police in the forest during the gun battle.”
The other suspects were apprehended in their various criminal hideouts in the forest and other locations along the Abuja-Suleja-Minna highways for kidnapping, armed robbery, murder and multiple rape cases.
Moshood added that all the suspects arrested confessed to their various criminal roles they played in the commission of the crimes, saying that the suspects would be arraigned in courton completion of investigation.
He said, ” Investigation is being intensified to arrest other members of the gang still at large while the ongoing operation is being sustained and extended to other flash points across the country.”
