Police inspector takes own life over link to arms dealing with bandits

Police Inspector attached to the Niger State Government house, Minna has committed suicide after he was arrested over his alleged involvement in the supply of arms and ammunition to bandits and other Hoodlums in the state.

The police inspector John Moses, an indegene of Shiroro local government area of the state killed himself in detention cell where he was kept with other suspected criminals.

This is coming barely a week after the Officer in Charge (OC) of Mopol 12 armoury located at the premises of the B division of the police command, Paikoro road Minna Niger state capital, DSP Isah Abdullahi shot and killed himself over the same allegation of illegal Arm deals with bandits and other Hoodlums in the state.

The late DSP was arrested alongside four other police personnel, including the late inspector John Moses.

However the late Inspector was detained along with other suspects involved in the alleged arm deals but in different detection facilities.

Tragedy struck on Sunday when the late police inspector was said to have hit his head on the wall of the detention room severally before he slumped and died.

It was gathered that he was in the detention cell with other criminals who watched as the late inspector took his own life.

A source close to the deceased inspector told journalists that preliminary findings indicates that over hundred millions was discovered in his account even as the investigation is still ongoing.

Aside the physical cash in his account, the late inspector was alleged to be owing properties within the state and also deals in timber business.

When contacted, the command public relation officer SP Wasiu Abiodun said “these are mere speculations, the case is under the National Security Adviser (NSA).
