The police in Ekiti State have arrested one person in connection with the gun attack that occurred in Aramoko Ekiti leading to the death of a commercial driver, Mr. Femi Philips.
Spokesman for the police in the state, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, said, on Thursday, that the arrested person, who claimed to be a hunter, was being detained at the police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
Philips, a driver with Lafe Ade Transport Company, was shot dead by masked gunmen along Aramoko – Igede Ekiti Road in the early hours of Wednesday, while his 18-seater bus swerved into the bush leaving its occupants sustaining severe injuries.
It was rumoured that another Ado Ekiti-bound commercial vehicle conveying over 14 commuters was robbed around the spot around 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
