PMAN gets new President this Oct., as Morroco decries factionalisation

Come October this year, the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) will elect a new National President marking the end of the lingering leadership crisis in the Organisation.
Disclosing this to Daily Times yesterday in Awka, the South East/South South Premier of PMAN, Chief Emeka Morocco Maduka, said that the factionalisation of the body has adversely affected the Unity and fortunes of the Organisation.
The PMAN Leader further lamented that the factions in the body had always being tailored along ethnic sentiments noting that the essence of PMAN is to create unity and entertainment industry.
“What is causing the crisis in PMAN is the craze by some hungry musicians for money. Their interest is to be the head and enjoy the patronage of government for their own selfish gains”.
“Most of those who are creating factions in PMAN try to tailor it along ethnic line there by affecting the fortunes of our association adversely”
“We are happy to announce that in October this year the association will elect a new president devoid of any faction or leadership tussle” he said.
Maduka however expressed happiness with the increase in the number of new and upcoming musicians in the country, noting that it goes to show positive development and growth in the industry.
He however urged the federal and state governments to continue to assist the entertainment industry through creating more enabling environment for its success.
