Plateau Reformed PDP Chair Explains PDP Failure
The Chairman of the Reformed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Plateau State, Amb. Ibrahim Kasai, has attributed the loss of the party in the presidential polls to be the result of the party not taking to advice.
While reacting to the loss of PDP in the just concluded guber election in Plateau State, Kasai said the drift of the party members to support the candidature of Mr. Simon Lalong for the governorship seat was another resultant effect of imposition of candidates by the party in the state. He further acknowledged that the party needed restructuring and to also abide by the principles and letters of the constitution of the party to restore it to its leading position in the state.
Kasai whose presence also gave credence to the elders forum, under the aegis of Plateau Unity Forum (PUF), which, before the election adopted Lalong as the sole candidate of their various communities, added that, “we as Reformed PDP are vindicated with what you are seeing today. We called them to respect the party’s constitution and the zoning formula, but they did not listen. We said they should not impose candidates, they failed to listen to us. Now this is the result. We shall come back strong, however, after this.”
