Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed the 10- man caretaker committee as custodian of the Edo State chapter of the party.
This is as the party dismissed certain individuals parading themselves as members of the Executives of the Edo State Chapter of the PDP.
National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba said such individuals are “illegally arrogating offices to themselves, issuing unauthorized directives, attempting to convene meetings and engaging in other actions that are inimical to the stability of our Party in Edo State.”
The PDP stated in clear terms that the Edo State Chapter is presently being run by a 10-member Caretaker Committee with Dr. Tony Aziegbemi as Chairman and Hon Henry Duke Tenebe as Secretary.
Ologunagba in a late Thursday evening statement said “the Caretaker Committee was duly appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the PDP Constitution to pilot the affairs of the Edo State Chapter following the expiration of the State Executive and pending the election of a new State executive.
“For the avoidance of doubt members of the Edo State Caretaker Committee are as follows: Dr. Tony Aziegbemi Chairman and Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe as Secretary.

“Other members are; Hon. Harrison Omagbon, Hon. Fidel Igenegbale, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, Tony Anenih Jnr, Arch. Bishop Anthony Okosun, Hon. Segun Saiki, Adezat Kuburat Ibrahim and Augustine Edosomwan.
The PDP cautioned that “any other persons illegally parading themselves as the PDP Executive in Edo State will be treated as impostors as the Party has not elected a new Exco for the Edo State Chapter.
“Moreover the Party will not hesitate to take decisive disciplinary action against any person acting in defiance of the clear provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).”
The party urged all leaders, critical stakeholders, teeming member and supporters of the PDP in Edo State to remain united, at alert and continue to work with the Caretaker Committee in the overall interest of the Party and the people.
