PDP NEC okays date, venue for elective convention

…Grants waiver to Ladoja, Makinde, others

The National Executive Committee, NEC of the PDP has formally approved December 9 for the conduct of its elective national convention in a Abuja.

The convention will hold at the Eagle Square.

The budget for the convention, according to the party’s National Publicity, Prince Dayo Adeyeye was also submitted to NEC for approval. Adeyeye refused to disclosed the amount proposed for the convention.

The NEC members who rose from a marathon meeting in Abuja, also granted general waivers to its new membets in Oyo and Anambra states.
Prince Adeyeye announced the outcome of the meeting while addressing Journalists.

Some of those who benefited from the waivers are former Governor of Oyo State Chief Rasheed Ladoja and Mr Seyi Makinde who rejoined the party from Accord and Social Democratic Party SDP, respectively.

The NEC meeting according to Adeyeye also approved the guidelines for the party’s congresses in the states for the year 2017.

The Senator representing Ekiti South senatorial district, Mrs Abiodun Olujinmi, according to the National Publicity Secretary similarly reported to the NEC about some unpalatable developments happening within the party ahead of the 2018 forthcoming governorship election

The Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele is believed to have recently manipulated the emergence of his deputy, Prof Olusola Eleka as the party’s governorship candidate for the said election of next year. This did not go down well with many stakeholders in the state
