PDP Courts Jonathan Ahead of 2027 NEC Decision

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been invited by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to run for president in 2027 on the party’s platform.
The PDP has been excitedly anticipating the former president’s return for a second term, according to Ibrahim Abdullahi, the party’s deputy national publicity secretary.
Given the party’s important influence in determining Nigeria’s leadership, he said Jonathan’s return would be a positive event.
Regarding Jonathan and our governors, we have stated this. The FCT minister, who is a PDP product, is undoubtedly the best performer in his position. The PDP produced El-Rufai, Okonjo-Iweala, Dora Akunyili, Obi Ezekwesili, Akinwunmi Adesina, and Amina Mohammed, who are the glory of our nation, he said.

Jonathan was cautioned by Abdullahi about the “hypocrisy of the All Progressives Congress” and cautioned about the latest endorsements from people and organizations that had previously attacked him. He advised Jonathan not to be influenced by their unexpected love and to keep in mind how these same individuals mocked and devalued him.
Recent sightings of Jonathan’s presidential posters for the 2027 elections in Kano have raised concerns about his potential comeback to politics, according to The DailyTimes. “Team New Nigeria 2027; The Goodluck Nigeria Needs—Dr. Goodluck Jonathan” was one of the slogans on the posters, which were designed by “Team New Nigeria.”
