PDP: Anambra stakeholders reject delegate list

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Anambra State have rejected the December 4th state congress and any delegate list submitted to the National leadership of the party, saying that the December 4th congress did not hold.
The stakeholders stormed the party’s national secretariat on Thursday with a petition, demanding that any delegate list from Anambra State should be thrown, and also requested for a new date for the convention.
The Anambra PDP stakeholders in a meeting led by the party’s national secretary, Senator Ben Obi reviewed the process of the congress and came out with the position that the convention was a nullity.
Part of their petition read, “At the meeting of PDP Anambra state stakeholders comprising of national assembly members, BoT members, zonal officers, former assembly members, former national zonal officers of the party after a review of the purported conduct of the state congress, it was majorly agreed by the statutory delegate that the state congress did not hold on the 04 December 2017.
“There was no list of delegate to the state congress as the state congress committee did not provide any.
“There was no accreditation of delegate to the Congress.
“That since the state congress did not take place, it is the general view of the stakeholders that a repeat state congress be held after the national convention on the 09 December 2017.
“That the stakeholders are aware of a fake letter purportedly signed by members of the national assembly and other stakeholders endorsing the list of candidate purportedly elected from the said state congress” the petition stated.
The national secretariat of the party had earlier informed the media that the National Caretaker Committee (NCC) is yet to take a position on the controversial Anambra convention.
They also said that the situation is same in Osun state where only statutory delegates will participate in the national convention slated to hold on Saturday.
Some of the stakeholders that signed the petition are Chief Olisa metul, Chief Chris Ubah, Hon. Obinna Chidioka,
Hon. Chris Azubogu, Hon. Eucharia Anazodo,
Others are Chief Okey Ezenwa, Hon. Chukwuka Onyema, Senator Ugochukwu Mba and others.
