Pay us our salaries or face indefinite strike, JAC tells management

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi, Yabahas embarks on a peaceful protest yesterday for the non payment of salaries by the management of the hospital.
Speaking the Chairman of JAC, Comrade Awe Olugbengasaid that the 48 hours work to rule is just a warning strike action by the union for the management to meet her six point demands which includes;
‘’The immediate payment of December 2016 salaries to members, payment of promotion arrears from 2014 to 2015, three month teaching allowance deducted from our members salary from October to December 2016 ,remittance of third party deductions, the unions staff welfare scheme and cooperative for the month of November among others’’.
Comrade Olugbenga urged workers to report to duty during the period of the strike as they should resume by 8 am and close by 4pm as members will not be called to shift duty.
‘’ we are tired of suffering, our children are hungry, we don’t have money to cater for our families th because our salaries have not been paid’’
The peaceful protest which lasted for about one hour saw workers matching in solidarity songs around the hospital premises, armed with play cards, demanding for their rights and ending at the administrative block demanding to see the medical director.
However the Medical Director, Dr. OlarotimiOdunubiwhile addressing the protesting workers said that there was no need for the strike action taking by workers as he has done everything possible to make sure that they are paid their salaries.
‘’I can assure you that we have submitted all necessary document for the payment of workers salaries but the time it would be paid that I cannot say, he said
Odunubi however urged workers to remain calm and go about their normal duties
