Patience Ozokwor on her mortuary assistant days

Nollywood legend Patience Ozokwor, fondly known as Mama G, recently shared a heartfelt account of her journey to success, revealing she once worked as a morgue assistant to support her family.

Speaking at a pre-premiere dinner for Funke Akindele’s movie Everybody Loves Jenifa, Ozokwor praised Akindele for her exceptional work ethic and resilience, qualities she identifies with strongly.

“Funke Akindele is a very strong woman. I love strong women. I am a strong woman,” she said. “I went through thick and thin to become who I am today. I used to go to the morgue to dress dead bodies so my children could go to school and eat. I did a lot of things to make my family what they are today.”

Reflecting on her struggles, Ozokwor expressed gratitude for the support she received from her community, who witnessed her journey firsthand.
