Oyo: Ladoja Vows to Reclaim 'Mandate' from Ajimobi

Three days ‎after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the governorship election, held last weekend in Oyo State, former governor and Accord party candidate in the election, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, has vowed to use all legal means possible to reclaim the mandate given to him by the people of the state.

Ladoja, who was speaking for the first time since the announcement of Ajimobi as the winner, said the outcome of the election did not reflect the true wish of the people of the state.

He said there was no going back on pursuing the case at the election petition tribunal, just as he described the APC victory as ‘phantom victory’.

The former governor who addressed a mammoth crowd of supporters at the Accord party office, Samonda, Ibadan, warned the APC led government to stop harassing and tormenting his members who are being accused of not voting for him.
