Oyebamiji Predicts Victory in 2026 Osun Poll

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, has expressed supreme confidence in his ability to unseat the incumbent administration, declaring that he will emerge victorious in the upcoming poll.

Speaking on Saturday in his hometown of Ikire during an annual prayer session organized by the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Oyebamiji  dismissed the challenge posed by his rivals, stating emphatically that he has “no competitor” in the race.

The election, scheduled for August 8, 2026, will see Oyebamiji contest against the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party, and Dr. Najeem Salaam of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC).

Addressing the gathering of clerics and supporters, the former Osun Commissioner for Finance emphasized the spiritual dimension of his campaign.

He noted that the timing of the annual prayer was symbolic as the state approaches the critical election year.

“This year is symbolic, in the sense that come 8th August, 2026, the gubernatorial election in Osun State, and we are very hopeful; hence, prayer is very important, since we believe in the oneness of the Almighty Allah,” Oyebamiji said.

“I have said this several times that Bola Oyebamiji doesn’t have a competitor. I am going to win that governorship election come 2026. We believe strongly that by the special grace of God”.

The Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen, Ikire Branch, Alhaji Badmus Adekunle, praised Oyebamiji’s leadership qualities during the event.

He stated that the candidate’s emergence as the APC flagbearer was a testament to his “wide acceptance” among stakeholders and assured him of the group’s continued spiritual support.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, wife of the candidate, highlighted the humanitarian aspect of their outreach.

She revealed that the annual programme has been running for over a decade, with attendance doubling from 3,000 people last year to over 6,000 this year.

“You can see what happened here today… we want to be able to take care of our people, our women and children, this can only be done if AMBO is on the seat as the Governor of the state,” she stated.

The event was attended by APC members from across the state, underscoring the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the 2026 contest.
