Our son’s life in danger as family house attacked severally- Pa Osemwenkhae
Spokesman for the Osemwenkhae family, Pa Osamwonyi Osemwenkhae has cried out to Federal, State and local government as well as security agencies and concerned Nigerians to come to their aid as the lives and property of members of the family were no longer safe.
Pa Osemwenkhae said it has become necessary to let Nigerians know what the family have suffered in recent past as they have been attacked severally and can’t sleep anymore with their two eyes closed.
He noted that the ordeal of the family started on 10th of July, 2015 when Frankly Osemwenkhae was implicated in an act of homosexuality as he and his lover, one Kingsley Okoro, were caught in the act which is abominable in Iguelabar Community in Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State.
Furthermore, Osemwenkhae said both partners were seriously beaten with dangerous weapons by the youths of the Community who see the act as forbidden and led to the death of Kingsley Okoro, as his family refused to accept his death blaming it on Frankly Osemwenkhae.
”Following the development, our son was declared wanted by the Police who promised to investigate the matter and bring it a logical conclusion.
“Despite the involvement of the Police in the matter, the late Kingsley Okoro family promised to deal with our son and also our entire family, a threat we equally reported to security agencies which they did nothing about.
“True to their words, they started making life a hell for us as they kept harassing, molesting, and intimidating us to produce our son or else will bear the trouble that will follow”.
According to Pa Osamwonyi Osemwenkhae, the family house was attacked severally, putting their lives in danger, and subsequent report made to security agencies fell on deaf ears.
Aside setting the family house on fire on 28th of October, 2016 where Gladys Obazuaye Nee Osemwenkhae and Abieyuwa Osamede got seriously injured with various degrees of burns and were rushed to University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Pa Osemwenkhae said the family house has been attacked yet again on 10th of March, 2024.
“They have vowed to wipe out the Osemwenkhae family following the death of their Son, Kingsley Okoro unless Frankly Osamede Osemwenkhae is brought out from hiding.
“We were able to arrest one Ebube Okoro who led the attack and is a family member to the diseased. He was arrested and within two days set free by the Police, thus endangering our lives the more. One Dr. Osho of the Orthopedic female ward in UBTH handled the treatment of the affected family members. As a family, we can produce evidence of the treatment on the two family members affected in the attack”.
Our crime Correspondent spoke to the Okoro’s family on the allegations but Francis Okoro said the allegations were baseless, saying they are not responsible as they have since passed that stage and forgot the situation.
The Police Investigating Officer (IPO) of the case also denied the allegations of complacency against them saying the suspect arrested regarding the incident was set free after investigation exonorated him of any involvement or wrong doing.
As at the time of filing in this report, investigation into the matter continues as the police have vowed to arrest all those behind the said attacks and bring them to justice.
