Osun Guber: Yilwatda Presents Certificate of Returns to Oyebanji

The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Friday, presented Certificate of Return to Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, winner of the Party’s recently concluded Governorship Primary Elections and, the party flagbearer for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

The presentation ceremony, which took place at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, was attended by members of the National Working Committee, NWC, Party officials, and supporters of the candidate.

The ruling party candidate will slug it out with the dancing governor of the State, Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, who recently defected to the Accord Party, AP, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and any other candidate that emerges from other parties, in the State Governorship election, which comes up in August, 2026.

Speaking with journalists at the party National Secretariat, Buhari House , Abuja during the presentation Prof Yilwatda said: “We just minted a brand new candidate for Osun State Governorship election against 2026 election in Osun, which was by consensus.

“It is unique, compared to all other political parties, where the nine candidates come together and pick one of them to represent them in the general election. It shows the level of symbiosis and good relationship between the candidates, we know the candidate is going to carry everybody along, not just in the primary election but also, in the general election and in governance.

“We are proud and happy to announce that Bolaji Oyebamiji will be the sole candidate of APC in that election. We also handed over to him his certificate of return and he is now, by this certificate, given to him, makes him our candidate for 2026 election in August 2026 in the Osun election.

“Having said that, the party is ready to stand with Osun people neck to neck, leg to leg. We will stand by them day and night from now, until the day of the election to ensure that APC wins Osun State and wins also convincingly. Not just winning, but we want to win convincingly beyond any reasonable doubt, in the election next year.”

He stated that the party is mobilising its capacity as a party, and muscling its strength, back to Ohun State to ensure that, “we campaign, work vigorously to ensure that we win the election.”

In his remarks, Oyebamiji assured that Osun people are ready for APC to take the mantle of power from the dancing Government.

“The business of governance is a serious business. And we have a lot of human and material assets in the State. We need a serious manager to drive that asset, and that serious manager is Bola Oyebamiji. Now that I have that mandate, we are going to carry that mandate and come 2026 and 2027, we are going to deliver Osun. We are going to deliver to the President in that election,” he said.

He further stressed that there is no competitor against him, as it concerns the State elections adding that; “We are going to deliver and deliver Osun, come 2026 and 2027.”
