Oshiomhole in Kano, welcomes Shekarau, others to APC

Barely 12 hours after the Daily Times reported that the Chairman of the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Adam Oshiomhole and other top notch members of the party would visit Mal. Ibrahim Shekaru, the scoop has come to a reality.

The National Chairman, APC, Adam Oshiomhole, on Friday officially welcomed Mal. Ibrahim Shekaru to the APC during an official visit to the Shekarau’s residence in the company of the state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to Him, Shekaru’s return to the APC is a matter of reunion rather than defection as he (Shekarau) happens to be one of the founding father of the Ruling APC stressing that, going by the records, nobody is more progressive than the former minister whose records while in power, preceded that of others.

“I am most delighted to be at your residence to officially welcome you back to our great party the APC, the party you assisted to form.

“We know that you would have not committed great amount of efforts in the formation of the APC right from the beginning if you didn’t believe in it. But due to some issues you had to leave.

“I have always said that, going forward, the real progressive would unite and the conservatives would move away. The conservatives have moved away and that offers us a new opportunity for the real progressives to reunite.

“I have come to pay my respect to you your Excellency, to look forward to working with you and the Governor of the state whose progressive credentials are also well known,” he said.

Oshiomhole notes that the reunion would help advance the position of the party and that of the state and country at large.

Speaking shortly after the National Chairman’s remark, Ibrahim Shekarau said that, “In view of all the recent developments in the state, history is about to repeat itself”.

He added that, he had all along, “I have said it that, any history of APC without the name of Shekarau is never complete. I have the singular honour of being the chief midwife of the APC”.

Shekarau, assured that his homecoming would not only move the state forward but the nation at large.

Furthermore, he said regardless of whatever political party he and his colleagues found themselves, the mission remains the same. That is, sincerity of purpose and reality of political activities.

Responding, Governor Ganduje stated that, the same Hyena and Lion that drove the former minister out of the APC, followed him to the PDP also that, Shekaru and himself share same principles, ideology, and are both bureaucrats.

Ganduje, stress that, he had always maintain relationships with the former minister as a good friend and brother as such, he is the happiest man to receive him back into their folk for the betterment of the State as he is rest assured that his administration and Shekaru would share great ideas to move the state forward.

“Today, our dreams have come true, a friend and a brother has returned to us. Together we would move the state forward for the development of our people,” he stated.
