Heartland’s new boy, Jimoh Oni, entered the history books of the Glo Premier League when he made a goal scoring debut at newly promoted Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) during the week.
The former Court of Appeal forward was introduced in the second half and justified his inclusion with the goal that earned his side victory over the age long rivals.
After scoring his goal at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Oni ran towards club gaffer, Erasmus Onuh for cheers.
“I ran to my coach because he gave me the opportunity to make my debut in the Premier League. I didn’t expect to play on match day because I spent close to 15 minutes warming up by the sidelines.
“I was the last substitute for Heartland and I stepped onto the field determined to make an impact. Interestingly, my teammate Collins Nwaneri, played the ball towards the goal area and I moved ahead of the goalkeeper and defender to make contact with the ball,” he said.
Oni, who finished as top scorer to help Nigeria Nationwide Division One side, Court of Appeal, gain promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) dedicated his goal to God.
