One Killed, Another Hospitalized Over Political Matters
BENIN CITY – The travails of the Osayomore family in Benin City seems to be compounding as one Paul Aisabor, who is a distant relative and like a son to them has been facing constant harassment, and threats to his life. This is also extending to other family members and persons close to him.
Narrating the incident to our reporter in his hospital bed, Paul said that he was a beneficiary of the kindness of Mr Clement and Deborah Osayomore. He stayed with them until 2020 when the incident that led to their disappearance occurred. Recently, he has been facing constant harassment and threats to his life and people closer to him.
According to him, the threats has not stopped ever since.
He also said that the threats and constant attacks all led to the death of Clement’s mother in late 2023. As the political enemies of Clement along with one Mr Edosomwan have not stopped harassing and threatening his relatives and people closer to him to know the whereabouts of Deborah and her family as they have not being seen since 2020.
He said that with nowhere to go, as his beneficiary’s house was destroyed, he went to his uncle’s house in Ugbowo in Benin City and started living there.
He said that on 1st of July 2025, he was shocked when some fierce looking armed men came to his house, questioned him and rough handled him, they descended on him, hitting him with different instruments at the same time they were shouting at him to tell them where Clement and Deborah was. When his uncle, Sunday Aisabor tried to talk to them to take things easy, one of them hit him on the head, Sunday slumped and died before getting to the hospital.
The assailants escaped when they realized Sunday was unconscious on the floor.
He further said that the incident attracted neighbours, who rushed him to the hospital (undisclosed) While lamenting the agony and pain he has been going through on the account that he knows Deborah and the family, he said that the harassment and pain Clement and family had caused is far agonizing as he blamed his travails on the handiwork of some elements in one of the leading political parties(name withheld) in the country who are hell bent on eliminating him over serious political issues.
Presently Paul’s life is in danger as they are bent on using political connections to get to know the location of the Osayomore’s.
