The newly-established Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, has received an official approval from the National University Commission (NUC)
The Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Julius Okojie, who disclosed the commission’s approval of the medical varsity at the presentation of an official certificate to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, in Abuja, described the establishment of the university as a welcome development
He said: “You are in the right direction. We pray that what you have started will witness unprecedented progress and that others will emulate your good work. Our Job is to ensure the orderly development of Nigerian universities’’
On the funding of the university considering that the state already has two other universities, governor Mimiko said that education is a top priority sector in the state and that his government was ready to fund the university.
