…As Olafeso sets up pre-primary campaign committee
AS the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State draws nearer by the day, one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Eddy Olafeso has announced the composition of his pre-primary campaign committee.
Olafeso, who is the immediate past National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South West, named Hon. Ifedayo Akinsoyinu as head of the committee.
Akinsoyinu, who will be the Director General of the campaign is a former four time member of the State House of Assembly. He is to be assisted by a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele.
Other members of the committee include, Hon. Niyi Ogungbuji – Secretary General, Hon. Princess Kehinde Momoh – Deputy Secretary General, Hon. Akpoebi Lubi – Coordinator, Ondo South Senatorial District, Engr. Johnson Alabi – Coordinator, Ondo North Senatorial District, Hon. Ade Adegba – Coordinator, Central Senatorial District
Meanwhile, aspirants for the governorship seat in Ondo State have appeared before the screening committee headed by the immediate past speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara.
Those that appeared before the committee yesterday include, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, Prince Goddey Erewa, Chief Olusola Nehemiah Ebiseni, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, Okunomo Adebanji Benjamin, Hon. Dr. Bode Ayorinde and Sen. Kunlere Boluwaje.
Recall that the PDP announced the setting up of the Screening Committee to be headed by Dogara on Wednesday, to commence its duties with immediate effect.

The appointment which was contained in a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd.) in Abuja, had the approval of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Other members of the Dogara committee according to Akobundu, includes Sen. Zainab Kure, Fred Agbedi and Ndubuisi Agwuama while Rev. Bunmi Jenyo will serve as Secretary.
The committee has the mandate to screen all aspirants for the upcoming 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.
