Ondo APC Rejects House of Assembly Results

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, ‎has condemned the outcome of last Saturday’s House of Assembly election and rejected the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party, in a statement issued to reporters, on Monday, by its state Chairman, Mr. Isaac kekemeke, in Akure, the state capital, said the result of the election did notreflect the true wishes and aspirations of the people.

He said the outcome of the election showed that the people had been cheated, and their wishes subverted.

He disclosed that Governor Mimiko had lived up to his name and character by achieving his political goals at all costs without a thought for decency ‎and the conduct expected of his high office.

The statement read: “Never in the history of Ondo State had any election been marred by brigandage, thuggery, open inducement of voters before and during the election at the gate of the Government House and the polling booth; ballot- snatching and stuffing, open and shameless bribing of local election officials and ad-hoc staff of INEC.

“Changing of election results, change of election venue and mass thumb-printing, deliberate allocations of wrong ballot papers to constituencies to cause confusion and attendant announcement of fake results, neglect and non-use of card readers and many breaches too numerous to mention,” he said.

The party further said it would exposed to the world what he called the charade in the state election.

The APC, however, appealed to all its supporters to remain strong, ‎steadfast and law abiding, as it promised to retrieve all stolen mandates through lawful means.
