Ondo State deputy governor and acting governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, has directed local government chairmen in the state to vacate their offices, asking them to hand over council properties to their respective Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs).
It was learnt that the constitutional tenure of the elected chairmen and councillors of local governments in state ended Wednesday, 30th August.
This implies that all chairmen and councillors would vacate their respective offices accordingly and hand over the administration of the local governments.
Following the development, the acting governor, Aiyedatiwa, directed the HLAs in the 18 local governments across the state to take charge of the administration of the councils, “pending further directives from the state government.”
