Omo Oba Aderibigbe Adeleke Tella,

GOVERNORSHIP aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), In Ogun State, Omo Oba Aderibigbe Adeleke Tella, has promised to create 6,000 jobs in the agro allied sector within his first 100 days in office if voted into power.
Addressing a mammoth crowd made up of residents and party supporters at the launching of Omo Oba Tella Food foundation in Ilaro, the headquarters of the Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State on Thursday, he said that job creation especially in the agro allied and creative arts sector is part of his strategy to end hunger and poverty in the state.
Explaining further, he said that the first batch of 3,000 jobs will be in form of financial and material support for young farmers to embark on farming through the granting of loans while the other 3,000 jobs will be in form of support of financial and infrastructural incentives for start up young entrepreneurs in the creative arts and allied industry.
To achieve the set goals on agriculture and producing food for local consumption and export, he said his government will tap on the strategic support being offered by the Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation and the collaborative efforts of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan which is developing new and improved methods which enriched staple crops with Vitamin A to produce bio-fortified crops.
“It is interesting to note that bio-fortification reaches rural communities with intervention programmes such as supplement and fortification adding”through this approach we can help 1000 farmers become millionaires under 36 months.
Said he, ”agriculture is our chief project and with major roads presently being constructed al over the state and many more that we will construct in our time especially in the rural areas, we believe that we will complete the magic of the Rebuilding mission and help Ogun state view for the no 1 position in sustainable food production in Nigeria.”
“we know exactly what to do to achieve these great feats in agro allied industries in order to increase our revenue generating base and improve the lot of the common man through further investment in infrastructures all over the state as is being done by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun administration” he declared.
On the field of education, he promised that his team will use the new model schools just constructed all over the state to achieve the crucial needs of the state through a new scheme tagged Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM).
Omo Oba Tella revealed that his team has done extensive research on education and have discovered that, “with what is on ground now in Ogun state, the state will be first among equals if we can engage the big industries and SMEs because we know that technical education is a winner and provider of jobs any day.”
Omo Oba Tella also promised to fully pursue and further implement the master plan for the development of the state as conceived in 1976 but which is just being implemented by the present administration of Governor Amosun who he said,” has taken the bull by the horn to actualize the dream of the state founding fathers like late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Bisi Onabanjo.
Among those who graced the occasion are Alhaji Wahab Adesina, the chairman of Yea south local government of the APC,women leaders and national delegates as well as special advisers to the state governor.
