Okrika Wears

In our local parlance, ‘okrika’’ means second handed already used wears by the whites (Oyibos) in Europe and America. These are discarded, rejected and dumped wears bagged by trade merchants in BALES and shipped to Africa and other third world impoverished countries including Nigeria. Each bale is a mix of varying degree of used materials; the best of them are classified as first grades. Compared to BRAND NEW wears, ‘Okrika (Seconded hand wears) are by far cheaper and affordable by the less priviledge, the middle class and sometimes the rich.

What is the spiritual application of the foregone paragraph? The world is an Okrika Market, a trade centre where humans are either sold or purchased as second handed commodities to be worn by spirits. In the beginning, God created man BRAND NEW (Tear Rubber), “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good”. Genesis 1:31. Notably, men wear clothes, but spirits in possessing men, wear them as clothes. As our wears are subject to us, so are we subject and ruled by the spirits that inhabits or wear us. Be it the Spirit of God or Satan the Devil. We invariably express the nature of the Spirit in us through our behaviour.

Let us consider a case study! If an immoral spirit possesses a man, how do we know the nature of that spirit? It manifests in the man or woman as a prostitute, fornicator, adulterer, rapist, homosexual and the likes. The man in Mark 5: 1 – 9 who was possessed by legion, an unclean spirit in Gadarenes violently drove the man from civilization to the graveyard, is a classical example.

We are already used wears because Satan successfully wore Adam and Eve as brand new and corrupted them and an Adamic sinful nature became a transferred legacy through the human race. King David struck this fact in Psalm 51:5 “Behold I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Cain demonstrated this when he was worn by the demons of murder, hate, malice, strife, lie, violence, pride, arrogance, stubbornness, brute. These spirits or devils formed his behaviour as we read in Genesis 4:8…”that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him” our status was redefined by the entrance of devils into our being. Our God created original standard fell, we lost our rights as  sons daughters. We became degraded, cheap, valueless and used wears that attracts only what the Bible describes in Romans 6:23 “the wages of sin is death. We became rags in righteousness, gamblers, pagans, witches, wizards, idolaters, cultists, hypocrites to name just some.

No matter who you are, no matter where you belong, no matter how humanly placed, without Christ added eternal life value, you are simply a cheap second handed wear possessed or worn by some devils.

A degraded life? Yes! But God was interested in buying. In John 3:16–19, God came down to our world, intent to purchase us with a price, His own blood. From one shop to the other, bending down to select, He sought for first grades whom He would transform to first born “As many as believes in Him, to them gave he power to become His children”. John 1:12.

Second handed wears (okrika) are known to carry stale, offensive odour, stains and dirt. Equivalently, sin has a smell, an odour that is offensive to God, being the mark of a sinner. An okrika must be washed clean before it is worn. In the same vein, God has to subject every sinner through a cleansing process to rid us of sin. How? Three steps are defined.

Firstly, repentance and water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ who died for us as baptism is a death and burial symbol. Secondly, Sins are remitted by the blood of Jesus Christ only as a sanctification process. Permit me to state that only the correct water baptism as prescribed in Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:1–7, confers on the sinner’s forgiveness of sin. The generally accepted and practiced water baptism by sprinkling and pouring of water in the name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Ghost has no scriptural support. It is a denominational dogma and creed that will give life. The Holy God cannot wear a second handed wear (sinner) who is not first cleansed and set aside.

You are either worn by God or you are worn by devils. I belong to church or to a Christian family or I burn candles, am born a catholic or Anglican or Pentecostal etc has nothing to do with your salvation. We are all born sinners. Except you are born again by the spirit of God, you are not a part of God. Here is the tragedy! Any man not worn by God is not a part of God. To remain a sinner is to be worn by the devil, an okrika wear condemned to everlasting damnation.
