Okpotu targets NPFL goals record
Lobi Stars striker Tony Okpotu has revealed that he hopes to set a new goals record in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.
Mfon Udoh of Enyimba is the all-time goal king of the league with 23 goals, a milestone he achieved two seasons ago.
Last season, robust-playing centre-forward Okpotu fired 12 goals after he rejoined Lobi in Week 9.
The 22-year-old Okpotu is currently the joint leading scorer in the five-week-old league with four goals, same as 3SC forward Wasiu Jimoh.
And the former Al Ittihad of Libya striker has said his target is to help Lobi Stars win trophies and also set a new goals record in the NPFL.
“I am looking forward to helping Lobi win trophies and by the special Grace of God, I hope to break my friend’s (Mfon Udoh) record of 23 goals as well,” Okpotu declared.
