Okowa backs Tinubu for 2027, says president bringing stability, hope

Ifeanyi Okowa, former governor of Delta State, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying the President is restoring stability and hope to Nigeria.
Okowa, represented by his former Special Adviser on National Assembly and Inter-Governmental Relationships, Pascal Adigwe, spoke on Monday in Abuja at a national summit.
The summit was organised by the Integrity Group of Nigeria with the theme “Renew Hope Agenda through Continuity.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that he described Tinubu as an “action president” who has taken responsibility for Nigeria’s challenges, unlike some past leaders.
“Tinubu’s decisions might be tough or rough, but they are yielding positive results. Tinubu is bringing stability,” Okowa said.
“He’s bringing back hope. He’s taking the bull by the horn. He’s not referring to issues in the past or how the past was governed.
“He promised Nigeria that he will come to the saddle and take responsibility. That is what he has done.”
The former governor urged support groups to begin early mobilisation for Tinubu’s re-election, insisting the President deserves a second term.
“We have come, not with liability but assets to make what you have built better. We are coming with our experience, with our knowledge of the terrain. We are coming with love. We are coming with resources to better the lot,” he added.
Okowa maintained that Tinubu’s policies, though sometimes difficult, are laying the foundation for long-term national progress.
