Okorocha Rejects Results in Six LGAs in Imo

Governor, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has called for cancellation of the results of the presidential election in six Local Government Area of the State for alleged electoral malpractices by the combined conspiracy of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Okorocha who addressed newsmen Monday at the Government House Owerri during which he accused chieftains of the PDP in the state of using thugs to terrorize voters. He said that such LGAs as Oru East, Ohaji/Egbema, Ngor Okpala, Aboh Mbaise and parts of Owerri West not only witnessed rigging but also abduction and kidnapping of agents of rival political parties who were manhandled and forced to lie prostrate on the ground by soldiers acting on the orders of the federal government.

According to him, “Armed soldiers were used by the PDP as Aides to the collation officers and there was no collation of results at the ward levels as prescribed by electoral act and all the collating officers and presiding officers were directed to go and submit their results at the LG level from where they collected all the results from the booths in the presence of soldiers”,

The governor also alleged that 250 students of the “Rochas Foundation College who duly registered for the election and were issued with PVC were arrested and held hostage at Ogboko on trumped up
charges and prevented from voting by soldiers.

Reacting, the spokesman of Iheadoha Campaigne Organization , Chief Enyinnya Onuegbu dismiss the governors allegation saying that he was only crying wolves. He describe has untrue that the PDP leadership employ the services of the military to intimidate other political parties.

Onuegbu who further disclose that the Governor was only crying foul because his militia boys where dis armed earlier before the elections, which he alleged that governor Okorocha are planned to use the disrupt the polls. According to him, “Okorocha had seen the people of Imo state have rejected him and his Party APC”. He therefore advise parents and guardians not to allow their children to be used by Politicians to achieve their selfish interest.
