Ohale delighted over AWCON win

Super Falcons defender, Osinachi Ohale has said she will always remember with warm feeling the side’s hard fought victory in the just concluded 10th Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroun.
Falcons piped central African rivals and neighbours, Indomitable Lionesses 1-0 in Saturday’s AWCON final in Yaoundé to claim the eighth African title.
Ohale credited her five-star performance in the biennial football showpiece to the team work of her teammates.
“We feel quite great winning the African title for the eighth time, I’m certain the feeling will linger warmly in our memories for a long time to come.
“It was not a mean achievement, it’s tough and it showed that we have been working very hard.
“We are grateful to our past players turned coaches who worked assiduously hard to hold on the baton before passing it on to us.
“Of course, nobody will want to be blamed for error in her department and that was why I defended as if my whole life depended on it.
“However, I could not have achieved much without the cooperation of the entire backline, midfield, among others who actually made the job a lot easier for me.
“It’s quite a great feeling of self-accomplishment for me and teammates,” said the Rivers Angels strongwoman.
Ohale was named in the CAF Best XI after the two-week Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroun.
