The Ogun state Police Command has paraded a serial killer and cultist, Adewale Adeoye, who had allegedly killed 16 people.
Adeoye (30), who was alleged to be a member of Eiye cult was paraded alongside 28 others at the police headquarters in Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, Adeoye, alias, 16 and three others had been on the wanted list of the command in connection with several cases of cult related killings in Ijebu Ode and its environs.
But, speaking to journalists, Adeoye, who confessed to be a member of Eiye cult, said he had only killed about three people.
He said he was a professional printer and a drop- out from Michael Otedola College of Education and due to his cult activities was rusticated, and became a thug for politicians.
He said several efforts of the former Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly to rehabilitate him failed.
“I was made chairman of a unit in the Road Transport Employers Association in Ijebu Ode, but I can tell you that I had not killed 16 people, but only three,” he revealed.
Also paraded was a herbalist, Michael Ijomu and three suspected ritualists who were arrested penultimate week for being in possession of fresh human hands.
According to the police, the four suspects were arrested with two fresh human hands meant for alleged money rituals following a tip-off.
The police boss said the three suspected friends, John Feyisetan, Mathew Idosu and Samuel Adegbola of Owode-Yewa met with a herbalist, Michael Ijomu, to seek spiritual means for rapid enrichment.
The police boss explained that, the 40-year-old herbalist informed them that the only way out was to obtain fresh human hands to be used as a sacrifice for them.
He however said, Mathew suggested to his fellow perpetrators that he had a friend who could be useful. They visited the said friend with the promise to give him N1 million, which they did not have.
He explained further that Matthew’s friend met with their demands, but on their side, Matthew and others could not fulfill the promise of N1 million which resulted into a fight between them.
The two accomplices fought with him, to the point that their secret leaked to the neighbors who alerted police officers attached to the Idiroko Division.
In an interview, the four suspects confessed to the crime, but claimed the hands were not fresh human hands.
They claimed to have gotten the hands for money ritual, but met their Waterloo when they could not raise the demanded N1 million to purchase the human hands.
