Ogun APC Accuses PDP of Plan to Disrupt Saturday’S Polls

Twenty four hours to the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, Senator Ibikunle Amosun Campaign Organisation (SIACO), has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of plans to disrupt the elections in Ogun State.

While addressing the press on Thursday, in Abeokuta, the Director General of SIACO, Mr. Bode Mustapha, who was flanked by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Sowoolu and the Senior Special Assistant (Communications) to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Alhaji Bola Adeyemi, said that an attempt by the PDP to foment trouble, would undermine the electoral process at the polls.

He explained that PDP had the premonition of losing at the polls, hence their plan was to cause mayhem, aimed at preventing the electorate from voting, thereby disrupting the voting and counting process.

Mustapha, who is the former National Auditor of the PDP, alleged that the opposition party had already recruited political thugs and cultists in order to create chaos that would compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the votes, across the state, particularly in Ogun Central Senatorial District.

Said he: “To realise this plan, the PDP had already recruited some thugs and cult boys. They have also armed them. They have started deploying these hoodlums to different parts of the state.

“We want to remind you all that the characters that constitute the leadership of the PDP are used to this unconventional and uncivilised method. They used it effectively in 2007. They also tried it 2011 polls but were checkmated by the security agencies and the determination of our people. Violence is their usual stock in trade.
