OBIANO FLAGS OFF N16B FARM

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has flagged off the operations of N16Billion Ekcel Farm which will exclusively focus on the cultivation and processing of tomato and cassava.

While performing the function yesterday at Omasi Community in Ayamelum local government area of the state, Obiano expressed the commitment of his administration towards reformation of agricultural sector in the area noting that the State had flung its doors wide open to accommodate Agro-investors who have discovered what the State has to offer to the investment community.

He explained that the Ekcel Farm which would produce over 150,000 tons of tomato puree would also attract over 13,500 direct jobs and over 100,000 indirect jobs for the people of Omasi and the State at large.

The Governor further explained that the company would allocate 5% of its annual profit to the host community, 10% to the State government and another 5% for provision of amenities in the Community.

He advised the people to adopt harmonious relationship to the company, insisting that the Company is a blessing to the community and the state hence they have come to develop the area and must be accorded hands of followership.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Ekcel Farms Limited Engr. Emeka Okwuosa explained that the Company became interested in Anambra State when it realized that the governor’s Economic Blue print was not a political gimmick but a true blue print for the development of the State.
