Ize-Iyamu blasts Obaseki for condoling insecurity in Edo

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo has condoled with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over the death of two policemen attached to the party’s campaign entourage in a crash.

The Edo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also condoled with Oshiomhole and APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Obaseki made this known in a statement on Tuesday, September 1.

Obaseki in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, commiserated with the families of the victims of the crash and prayed God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

He said: “I received the news of the accident with shock and commiserate with the former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election (Ize-Iyamu) over the very unfortunate incident involving their security aides and top chieftains of the party in the campaign team.

 “While we pray for strength for the families of the deceased persons, we also pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured and are receiving treatment.”

Daily Times reported that a trailer rammed into the travelling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, claiming lives, this evening.

Oshiomhole reportedly escaped a close shave with death after his convoy was reportedly attacked by a group of armed hostiles.

The two policemen were killed during the attack on Oshiomhole’s convoy, while the surviving security agents bravely fought off the assailants whose motive remains unclear as at the time of filing this report.
