Oba Erediauwa was a man of peace – Anosike

…Condoles Benin Kingdom over demise of monarch
Publisher of the Daily Times, Mr. Fidelis Anosike, has described the late Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, as a man of peace who will be missed not only by the Benin Kingdom and Edo State, but by Nigeria as a whole.
Anosike said this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos, urging the Royal family and the Benin Kingdom to take solace in the fact that Oba Erediauwa lived an honest and exemplary life.
The Daily Times publisher also described the late Benin monarch as an embodiment of the rich heritage of the Benin culture.
He said: “Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa was a man of peace, distinction and integrity. He had affection towards all his visitors. He was always ready to make you feel at home, irrespective of social or political status. He loved his people and served them well. No doubt, Omo N’ Oba Erediauwa will be missed by the Royal family, the Benin Kingdom, Edo State and Nigeria.”
Anosike, a graduate of the University of Benin, said the late Oba Erediauwa was like a father to him during his time in the university, adding: “On a personal level, I feel pained that our revered Omo n’Oba is no more. He will surely be missed by all who had the privilege of meeting and interacting with him during his lifetime. He contributed in no small measure to ensure harmony between the University of Benin and its host community”.
Anosike said Oba Erediauwa was one royal father who stood, did his best to promote and protect the Benin culture and tradition, adding “He was a great exemplar of a Royal Father”.
