Oba Adedapo Tejuoso: Monarch dedicated to advancement of humanity, gospel

Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke Ona of Egbaland, in Ogun State, is one of Nigeria’s wealthiest monarchs. His last name is synonymous with excellence. Oba Tejuoso’s mother, late Bisoye was regarded as one of the most successful businesswomen of her generation.

Obviously, the monarch inherited her late mother’s genes – he’s able to build on her late mother’s legacies and brought stability to his domain. Right from early days, Oba Tejuoso showed glimpse of greatness.

At Abeokuta Grammar School where he had his secondary education, Oba Tejuoso was one of the bright students. He graduated from Abeokuta Grammar School in flying colours alongside late Beko Ransome-Kuti, his then classmate.

Continuing his pursuit of academic excellence, Oba Tejuoso proceeded to Trinity College, Dublin, in 1958, where he studied medicine. Since then it has been a story of onwards and upwards for the brilliant monarch.

According to Oba Tejuoso in one of his interviews, he returned to Nigeria in 1964 after his educational sojourn abroad. Oba Tejuoso was one of the first set of doctors to work at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH.

He covered himself in glory during his medical practice. The then young Tejuoso, despite being a medical practitioner was also keeping an eye on his mother’s businesses, learning and honing his entrepreneurial skills under the tutulage of his mother, Madam Bisoye Tejuoso.

A man destined for greatness, Oba Tejuoso became the Osile of Oke Ona Egbaland when he turned 50 years old. Before ascending the throne of his forefathers, Oba Tejuoso won many hearts with his valuable interventions during the Constitutional Conference in 1994.

Upon his ascendancy of the Osile throne, Oba Tejuoso surrendered his throne to God. As a monarch, he has ruled his people with fear of God. And it’s no surprise that his reign has been peaceful and rewarding for the people of Oke Ona Of Egbaland. A philanthropist known for always sparing a thought for the less privileged, Oba Tejuoso has used his influence to advance the prosperity of his kingdom.

Apart from uniting the people of Oke Ona of Egbaland, Oba Tejuoso has contributed a lot to the economic prosperity of Oke Ona and Egbaland in general. The industrialist moanrch who has interests in key sectors of the Nigerian economy has been at the forefront of efforts aimed at bringing development to his kingdom. A true community developer, Oba Tejuoso has also used his personal resources to help countless people who always thronged his residence for one favour or the other.

Perhaps, the most heartwarming traits of Oba Tejuoso is his dedicated to the propagation of the gospel of Christ. Despite being a high-profile monarch, Oba Tejuoso has constantly used his throne to promote the gospel of Christ. He’s unashamed of the gospel.

Oba Tejuoso is the convener of “King’ Praise, praise concert organized by the monarch to honour and worship God featuring top gospel artists. Legendary juju musician and longtime friend of Oba Tejuoso, Chief Ebenezer Obey is the Chairman of King’ Praise programme.

Through the popular praise concert held quarterly the monarch has elevated the gospel of Christ beyond his kingdom. On the home front, Oba Tejuoso has done well for himself and his family. He is blessed with well-mannered children including Senator Lanre Tejuoso who are following in his iconic footsteps.
