NYO commends youths inclusion in Tinubu’s administration, calls for more slots

…as Ugwu, others take oath of office as Caretaker Committee

President Bola Tinubu has been commended over a considerable number of youths appointed and nominated so far in his administration.
Acting National President, Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO), Hon. Jerry Ugwu gave the commendation while speaking with journalists shortly after the inauguration of the Caretaker Committee of the organisation at a ceremony held at the Rayfield Hotel, Abuja on Saturday.
Considering the appointments made so far by President Tinubu, he said youths have been fairly represented at the level of ministerial and advisers.
He, however said the Nigeria Youth Organization will appreciate Tinubu should more youths be appointed.

Ugwu said “we are satisfied with the number of youths appointed and nominated so far. Actually, we do not expect all youths to be fixed but more can still be appointed.”
The acting president said involvement of more youths in governance will help the Tinubu administration tackle insurgency, banditry,the sit at home order in the South East and other forms of insecurity in the country.
“We are going to collaborate with the Tinubu government to achieve the aspirations of his government . We expected that he will give us more appreciable slots in his government”, he added.
While acknowledging the challenges face by this generation and the pivotal role played in shaping Nigeria’s destiny, Ugwu said the youths posseses the power to shape a brighter tomorrow for themselves and generations to come.
“My vision for this organisation is one of unity, empowerment and collaboration. We shall transcend ethnic, religious and regional barriers, to harness the strength of our diversity. Together we will foster an inclusive environment where every young Nigerians feels heard, valued and encouraged to contribute their unique talents and ideas.
“Empowerment will be at the heart of our endeavours . We will work tirelessly to thrive in an ever- evolving world. By providing educationally opportunities, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support we will unlock the immense potentials within each young Nigerian”, he said.
Barrister Surayya Isah administered oath of office on the remaining 8 members of the Caretaker Committee. The acting president, Hon. Jerry Ugwu had been conferred with the Presidency on July 12, 2023 in Lagos by the Life Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of NYO.

Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Dr.Olusegun Adeleye said the BoT authorized the composition of the Caretaker Committee after the expiration of the tenure of the previous executive.
The new executive members are; ; Hon. Aliyu Yankara, Vice President, Hon. Oluwatobi Oguntobi, General Secretary, Hon. Anselem Ezelumo, Organizing Secretary, Hon. Olushola Temitope Oladosu, Publicity Secretary, Hon. Mohammad Shaibu, Treasurer, Comrade Halima Salaudeen, Woman Leader and Hon. Jiddai Gadzama, Director of Security and Intelligence.
